our story

Osborn Transportation was founded in January 1970 by Jack Osborn. Back then, Osborn concentrated on dry van, refrigerated and less-than-truckload shipments while operating in all 48 contiguous states. After the Deregulation Act of 1980 was passed, the decision was made to operate as a full truckload carrier only. This decision laid the groundwork for the company we have today.

In the 1980s and '90s, Osborn primarily serviced the tire industry with 90% of revenue coming from all major tire manufacturers in the United States. In 2001, Osborn was granted its first major contract within the automotive industry. At that time, major auto manufacturers had started to build plants in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi.

In the last decade we have concentrated more and more on truckload services in and around the Southeast as well as shorter haul local operations.

In December 2013, Osborn was acquired by Celadon Trucking Services out of Indianapolis, IN.  Since that time, we have increased our capacity to more than 600 tractors and 1,300 trailers and operate 4 major divisions:  Dedicated, Southeast Regional, Over the Road, and Local. These divisions run in most major markets around the country.

We place high priority on our drivers and customers alike and offer them the best, safest and most technologically advanced equipment on the road today. Osborn Transportation is well positioned to continue quality growth in the marketplace well into the future.
